Online Language Level Tests

Would you like to know your current ability to comprehend a language? Do you want to practice before taking your local accredited language exam? Or are you a language teacher looking for a free but comprehensive level test for your students?.

At Language Trainers, nothing is more important to us than helping learners master a new language! But learning a language is like any skill. It can be helpful and motivational to know at what rate you are advancing. It is also useful to know in what areas you are weakest, so you can concentrate your learning.

That is why we have designed these level tests to help you gauge your current ability and to discover where you should focus your learning to keep improving. Simply select the language from our available list below to begin your quick assessment. (If you don’t see the language you are learning, get in touch and let us know! We add new tests, frequently.).

Our Level Tests use multiple-choice questions and answers so you can complete the test quickly and we can provide your results instantly. There are 70 questions in total, but you can complete them in sets of 10 and choose to end the test each time you finish a set. However, the more questions you answer, the more accurately we can measure your current language level.

Read and answer each question carefully, but try not to guess, as this can adversely affect your final score. Instead, simply select the option “I don’t know.” Each question should only take an average of 10-15 seconds to answer (but don’t worry if it takes you a shorter or longer amount of time; everyone is different!). Completing a set of 10 questions averages about two to three minutes, and completing the whole test normally only takes 10 to 20 minutes.

Your results will appear on-screen and via e-mail as soon as you finish. You will receive a total score and a rating level. If you’d like to know about our proficiency ratings and how they compare to official language tests, you can read more here.

We will also show you which, if any, questions you answered incorrectly to help you – and your teacher - prioritize your learning and identify areas for improvement.
