About Alessia

Hi, I'm an Italian native speaker and I teach Italian. I studied and graduated in Pavia, where I earned a Bachelor's degree in Humanities and a Master's degree in Linguistics. I became passionate about Second Language Acquisition theories and their applications to second language teaching, so after University I started tutoring Italian learners online. In my lessons I will always speak Italian, because it is important that you train you ears to hear Italian e distinguish words from one another. Don't worry, if you don't understand or you need a detailed grammar explanation I can also speak English. Whether you want to review your grammar, to enrich your vocabulary, or you simply would like to have a conversation, I'm happy to help! Looking forward to meet you!

Teaching Expertise

Erasmus Traineeship in the Italian Studies section at Ghent University, Belgium. The traineeship improved my skills in teaching Italian to non-native speakers. I participated as an observer to both Italian Language and Italian Linguistics classes and I designed grammar exercises, corrected texts written by the students, arranged weekly group meetings and one-to-one meetings with the students. Currently, I'm working as an Annotation Analyst at Apple and I teach Italian online in my free time.
