About Evelyn

I consider myself a person that gets things done and my track record has shown this to be true. Before leaving Colombia and moving to the UK, I decided that I was ready to come back to teaching not only because it’s what I love doing but I felt that in my previous position as state coordinator for bilingualism I had gained the necessary skills to go beyond just being a good teacher in terms of being a subject expert but by becoming a more holistic teacher i.e. one that focuses on the development of a broader set of competencies that empower the student to become an independent learner. I have successfully prepared students for the National University entrance interview and exams in Colombia as well as having helped in-service teachers apply for (and win) international scholarships.

Teaching Expertise

UNIVERSIDAD POPULAR DEL CESAR POSITION: English Teacher and Spanish teacher FUNCTIONS: Lead the four levels of English and Spanish in the different faculties, with excellent scores achieved in the teacher evaluation carried twice-a-year by students. Position offered for being the student with the best GPA of the University (scholarship given in all semesters as the best average of the entire degree program). Graduated exalted in the University for being an excellent scholarship student.
