About Walleska

I am 25 years old and I am a graduate student in Portuguese grammar and literature (degree in teaching). I strongly believe in the power of conversation and cultural exchange to absorb and understand the language. Some English schools in Brazil teach that you should abandon the native language to understand the second one. "You can't think in Portuguese, think in English" they often say. In recent years, from my own experience, studies, and contact with other professionals, I have increasingly thought against this methodology and I believe in learning a new language from our native language as support, through language associations. I understand grammar, in terms of grammatical rules, as a tool to support writing, reading, and conversation.
