About Nicholas

My philosophy is that learning is doing. In my class, not only will I guide you through making comprehensive grammar notes, but we will practice using those notes to support your learning. I learned French by taking exchange programs in Quebec later in my youth. The challenges posed to me as a second language learner in an immersive environment have shaped my teaching style. When learning a second language it is important to: 1) learn to use the language to accomplish ACTION, 2) use familiar resources that you already know to supplement learning (watch movies you are familiar with, study concepts you are already interested in, etc.), and 3) increase the total amount of time that you spend hearing the language (ex. passively listening to talk radio while you clean).

- 4 years of high school English and French teaching in public school of Ontario - 1800 online ESL classes taught - learned French by participating in immersion programs in Quebec

Nicholas's Qualifications

- Bachelor of Arts (English and French language, literature, and linguistics)

- Bachelor of Education

- 120 hour TESOL certificate
