About Samantha

My teaching method is simple: everyone learns differently! Lesson activities are tailored to students' abilities & learning style. I take the time to get to know my students' needs as we begin our lessons, ensuring that they can learn the language authentically & enjoy the process. Conversation classes based on TV: TV shows help our comprehension, & we can build vocabulary & confidence the more we talk about them! These classes are great for intermediate learners & group classes. Grammar from textbooks for the academic: I offer a vast collection of textbook & workbook material from a wide variety of sources, for an in-depth understanding of the language's intricacies. Pen-pals for the traveler: Let's learn by reading and writing together--this offers very useful vocabulary and skills.

Teaching Expertise

Language studio for adults (2 yrs): private studio of 13+ students, experience ranging from none to advanced fluency. Spanish tutor (6 yrs): tutored high-schoolers in Spanish levels 1-5AP. Bilingual communications (2 yrs): worked on multilingual communications teams in the tech & non-profit sectors, worked as a translator (EN > ES) Extensive time abroad: lived in South America & attended Adólfo Ibáñez University in Chile, traveled Latin America & Spain.
