About Leigh

"Language is Power" I teach English as a second language and Spanish. I have been teaching languages for over twenty years now and it has been a blast! My teaching style is relaxed, friendly and gregarious and ALWAYS using the target language. We focus on all four skills of language; conversation, listening, reading and writing, thus learning through a whole language teaching approach in each lesson. My students have the freedom to choose topics of interest and hobbies for a fun learning experience along with the lesson topic at hand. Overall, lessons have a communicative nature, as it is the most effective way for you to remember what you learn. We will use websites, videos, projects, music, books, social media, etc. So, join our trial lesson and empower yourself to change your world!

Teaching Expertise

Over twenty years of English as a Second Language and Spanish teaching in the United States, Japan and Cuba. I have taught from elementary school level to adults at the University and community college. In my experience I like to tie my students' personal interests with our lessons so they become engaging and relevant, as that is the most effective way to learn and produce a language. We can focus on any skills you wish; from vocabulary building to writing compositions for academic purposes.
