About Alaia

When I start teaching Basque to a new student, the first thing I do is tell them to forget about using English. From the first minute we will talk, listen and think in Basque. With me, you will learn to speak Basque like a real native, including all the expressions that you cannot find in a textbook.

Teaching Expertise

I taught during 4 years to adults in a Basque Center of Pau in France during my studies. For me, the most important when learning a foreign language is to be immersed in the language, by speaking it, writing it, reading it and listening to it.

- Master of Arts in Translation, Terminology and Documentation with honours at the University of Pau and Pays de l'Adour (UPPA, France), 2020.

- Bachelor of Arts in Applied Modern Languages, specialization in English-Spanish-French with honours at the University of Pau and Pays de l'Adour, 2018.

- Literary High School Diploma in the Ikastola Bernat Etxepare (Basque language school), 2015.

- EGA Basque certification level C1 in partnership with ALTE (Association of Language Testers in Europe), 2014.
