About Steve

When I teach a class, each of my students knows that I want to help them learn. I listen to their needs and questions. I listen to what they want to learn. Then I provide ideas, tools, resources, guidance, and I confirm with the student that it was helpful. I explain the topics clearly and thoroughly. I also ask questions such as: What have you learned? I love teaching, but I also want my students to learn. Learning is at the core of teaching. I also have a lot of fun teaching and I connect what I am teaching to bigger learnings. Many students have learned a lot of about themselves personally through my classes. Teaching Expertise

I have been teaching English, Public Speaking, Research Methods, and Speech since 2009 at universities. I enjoy helping students with APA formatting, citing, referencing, as well as research methods, annotated bibliographies, and literature reviews. In addition, I have more than 25 years of experience in the academic environment, as well as in professional writing, and journalism. I focus on providing clear, thorough, professional instruction and feedback to each student individually.
