About Andre

I believe in tying language learning by means of personal interests. Whereas that might be a difficult task to do for real beginners, it should gradually be applied. At the same time, the student is the customer, which means that I will cater to their wishes and needs. Ideally, we would only use the target language, but since that could be frustrating and ineffective at times, the use of a secondary language can be of help. However, learning of vocabulary and the comprehension of situations should be contextual. Over the years, I have built on techniques that seek to explain words without much explanation, e.g. by the use of examples, synonyms, etc. Due to my interest and expertise in Intercultural Communication, I pay close attention to my students' "background culture".
