When I start to teach French or English as a second language, I tell students that mistakes are normal and encouraged. It is very important to not translate to the native language because languages are a series of patterns. Some words and phrases are unique to the language and sometimes cannot be translated. It is also important to take risks and step out of your "comfort zone," and take the challenge of learning a new language. Also, set simple, realistic goals. Eventually, you may hit a "plateau," or become frustrated that you are not making progress. Go back to goals. Listen to the language at least 15 min a day, especially during "dead time." I was 6 when i start learning English , I went to classes , i tried many institution and lots of teachers , i remember when i told my mom that i am done with learning English, but after a few years , i get back to study , i found better ways to learn and I couldn't believe but it worked , I'm getting better every day and i feel i should help others like me , this ways are not hard and it's fun , believe it or not , you will learn during joy and happiness , just trust me and try it, I promise , you will love it .

I learned Spanish through the American school system where I was enrolled and, therefore, understand learning a language from the perspective of a non-native speaker. I have taught all levels and ages, from Spanish 1 through Advanced Placement. I teach College Spanish and have been hired at 3 different colleges. I currently teach English to kids in China virtually and have taught virtually for 5 years so I am very experienced. If you want to learn a language, you have to live with it. Love in it, hate in it, laugh in it, cry in it, think in it and so on. To do that, you don't have to know thousands of words. As a little kid you knew very few of them, still, you were a native speaker. A couple of hundreds will be enough, at first. You don't have to be an expert in grammar when starting too. You're going to make mistakes, many of them, and that's how it should be. Don't be ashamed of what is natural. Mistakes are our greatest teachers. You should speak and keep speaking no matter what. And you'll be making progress day by day. I know loads of approaches to teaching English, I've even created my own.
