I am a teacher who puts the need of the student first. I am able to connect and encourage students as I want them to have confidence when speaking English. When I have a student I make sure that the student is happy and therefore I achieve great results from the student. I am exuberant person full ambition and determination when I put my mind to something. This helps me with students as over time they trust me with helping them achieve their language goals.

I’ve been teaching English and World History for 17 years to middle schoolers. My specialties include grammar, conversational English, English reading and writing, poetry, and figurative language. As for personal literary interests I am an avid fantasy fiction lover. I’m bilingual in Vietnamese and English and graduated from a Jesuit college. This means I will approach our lessons from a liberal arts perspective.

What I do is that I focus on the student in classes. This means choosing topics that are of interest to them, topics that are relevant and modern, also playing games at the end of the class, so that the students can use language creativity. It is important to keep a balance between grammar and practice (50/50).

Traveling is my favorite hobby. Every year I make plans thinking about the next destination I want to visit, but it wasn't always like that. Before my first exchange program to Germany, I didn't feel confortable going to another country without knowing how to speak at least English. That is why even though I lived for a year abroad and learned a new language, when I returned to Brazil I decided to continue my studies in English and venturing on new trips to meet different people and countries. I am a very communicative person so our class will be with many dialogues: we will learn types of presentation, greetings, typical everyday situations and among other things. The first thing I suggest my students when I start teaching them English is to not to fear that language. Whether it's English or Gujarati all languages seem intimidating but are beautiful in their own way. After a few classes once the student gets comfortable I introduce songs and poems of that particular language into the lessons and it works beautifully! The interest students develop in the language and the culture behind it helps them focus well and learn really fast. Look at languages as a glance into people's culture, life and traditions, as a way to explore the earth and language learning would flow like a rhythm

So the way I teach is different, basically I want you to understand what I’m throwing at you if you are not understand it I will help you understand it. I have a great sense of humor and love putting that into the subject we learn.
