When I start teaching Greek to a new student, the first thing I do is tell them to forget about using English. From the first minute, we will talk, listen and think in Greek. The Human brain is a crazy place and I am currently studying my second undergraduate degree in the two things that fascinate me the most: Psychology and Criminology. Depending on your goals, I tailor my lessons to your specific needs. If you'd like to improve speaking, we practice conversation questions for 30 minutes before reviewing mistakes in pronunciation, grammar and vocabulary together. Similarly, to improve pronunciation we have discussions and as we speak, I will write your errors down and find trends with certain vowels or words that need particular attention. If you are interested in learning more about grammar, I give explanations, use worksheets to practice specific grammar points, and then have you independently give my examples of what you have learned to ensure comprehension. For vocabulary, together we find antonyms and synonyms to increase your language capacity. One to one lessons have proven effective through screen sharing.

Hey, I'm Miss Freeland, while living in Puerto Rico, I got my start in Education by tutoring and mentoring classmates in English. I enjoyed it so much I also began mentoring English-speakers in Spanish, my second language. Once I graduated and started college, I began my major in Education, yet I wished to acquire experience alongside my studies and so I joined the Language LAB at my university. There I became an official mentor teaching grammar rules, how to carry a conversation, how to develop as a strategic writer, and how to speak and think fluidly in the taught language. To ensure retention and language acquisition, I seek to teach students by focusing on their strengths and independent ability. My overall wish is that all students genuinely enjoy learning through various methods.

My name is Melance Nkurunziza, 12 years of teaching experience, French / English teacher in Burundi since 2007- 2015 and in Kenya 1 year as French teacher at Kiota Primary school Nairobi Kenya, Currently working as Interpreter with UNHCR Nairobi. French is like other languages apart from the pronunciation and intonation with its special accents. French is not acquired by literal translation from a language to French but by loving it, by getting interested by videos, audios, news, songs in French without forgetting vocabularies which explain better contextually the meaning without even translation. I have a passion for teaching. I enjoy working with my students, having a good time and working hard at the same time. I use video calls (Zoom, Google Meet, Skype, etc) plus an educational platform to increase language exposure, provide extra material and activities. It is also a great way to follow closely student's progress. I have been responsible for teacher's in-service training and workshops on technology inclusion for several years and feel very confortable using web tools to support my student's learning and provide a motivating environment. I have helped students get ready for their exams for over 30 years and acted as Oral Examiner for these exams for 12 years hired by Cambridge English Assessment.
