I started teaching swimming lessons when I was 15 years old and immediately knew that I enjoyed helping others find their potential. When I started teaching English, I was not yet professionally certified, and through trial and error learned that there are two things a great teacher needs, and that is an absolute love and knowledge of the content area, and an ability to connect with students. Since then, I have taught for 17 years, with 4 years teaching abroad in Colombia, and the greatest feedback that I receive has always been students telling me that I make class fun, I inspire them to do their best and be good people, and that they feel like they can learn better because I am "real" with them. I use my own method that works very good for a long time, teaching through games, creativity, description of drawings, words and riddles. I also use something that I called "Emergency Spanish", it is to be able to communicate in typical and real situations of daily life. In this way my classes are quite specials, not very traditional, my motto is "Learn by Playing". I learned Spanish through the American school system where I was enrolled and, therefore, understand learning a language from the perspective of a non-native speaker. I have taught all levels and ages, from Spanish 1 through Advanced Placement. I teach College Spanish and have been hired at 3 different colleges. I currently teach English to kids in China virtually and have taught virtually for 5 years so I am very experienced. I have been nominated Teacher of the Year for 5 years of my career and have been National Board Certified to teach Spanish 2 times. I also run an Exchange Program with kids from Spain each summer.

My greatest inspirations for teaching are my pupils. Of all the gifts that I could give them, it is the proficient ability to understand and communicate with others. My first experience as a Spanish teacher was working with Brazilian children. It was an eyes-opening because of the sense of accomplishment watching their interest and engagement in the subject; which explain the reason I decided to become a qualified teacher. I also believe that being a native Spanish - Portuguese speaker and experienced teacher makes me exceptionally well-qualified to prepare students to successfully achieve their goals.

Hi! My name is Valentina I have a degree in foreign languages and I have experience in teaching foreign languages. I can speak and teach Italian, English, and Spanish and during my lessons, I mainly focus on speaking practice and grammar. I help students with flashcards and exercises and I make my lessons more fun and relaxing by playing youtube videos related to the topic we're studying or by playing language games and listening to songs. From a very young age I was clear about what I wanted to do when I grew up: to be a teacher. So I decided to study Catalan Philology because I love my language very much and I want to pass on this admiration to people who don't know it.
