Hi! I'm Miguel Palma, and I've been teaching languages (English/Spanish) since 5 years ago. I have been working in different levels from Kindergarten to University.
My classes are practical and fun. We will learn useful language in the first sessions, singing and playing some games to adquire new vocabulary.
Let me help you reach your goal!
To be honest, I don't have much experience teaching Spanish, but I'm a Spanish-speaking, university-educated, biologist by profession, and I have an affinity for languages, I read and write quite well, I'm very careful with spelling.
I assure you that learning with me will be fun, the grammar will not be boring and you will be able to express yourself clearly without being mocked when you speak.
I am an enthusiastic, compassionate, and organized bilingual private tutor ready to help with multiple subjects. As a TEFL/TESOL Certified English Instructor, I am qualified and ready to help you or your child learn English. I also specialize in teaching beginning to intermediate Spanish; designing custom curriculum based on my students’ interests and needs.
I finished my undergraduate education this winter (with BAs in Spanish, English, and Environmental Studies) and am heading to grad school to work towards an MA and PhD in Spanish Literature! I hope to be a Spanish professor in the future, since language and teaching are my passions. I have tutored Spanish for the past three years, including online, and have been trained as a writing tutor as well. I have worked with students in English, Spanish, and more, teaching from the basics of a language up to advanced literary analysis skills and essay writing.
I cater my teaching method to each student that I work with. My tutoring is typically non-directive in style, but I constantly pursue further education to ensure that I can meet the needs of students with all types of learning styles!
My philosophy of education is that all students are unique and must have a stimulating educational environment where they can grow mentally, emotionally, and socially. It is my desire to create this type of atmosphere where students can meet their full potential. I will provide a safe environment where students are invited to share their ideas and take risks.
I am a recent college graduate ready to use my knowledge to teach others.I grew up speaking both Spanish and English. I am a first generation immigrant, so it is very meaningful to be able to teach the English language to others. But, I am interested in translating and interpreting as a career field, so it is also very meaningful for me to be able to teach Spanish. I want this to not only be a learning experience for you, but for myself as well. Please reach out if you have any questions! I am excited to be doing this type of work and can't wait for us to start working together. I do offer free trial sessions!
I was raised in Venezuela and have been working for international private banks in USA for 10 years. I can teach you Spanish for business and social environment, improve your grammar, Slangs and different idioms.
This will be a fun ride!
The time to learn something new is always full of excitement and prospect. You expect and dream so much about what you will be able to get, and when learning Spanish this is no different. As you continue to learn and face challenges, it sometimes can get frustrating. That's where I come in. I know your struggle, and I want to help you unravel this beatiful language, which is my native language. I like to approach every student with the same curiosity that my students get. I want to get to know you, so that I can see which methods apply to you and help you reach fluency in the language. I'm an advocate for personalized learning, instead of going by the book with every student. So, if you're willing, jump on a quick lesson with me and I'll see how I can help you learn it!
The first thing I do when starting to teach is making sure that’s the client is comfortable and has a few little snacks and drinks. Our lessons will be no thank the normal team they will be fun and engaging answer I like to keep you all entertained and no thank bored thinking it’s a chore. Book a trial lesson before you commit.
My passion for languages has driven me into the world of teaching. I currently teach Spanish and English. I am learning Italian but I do not teach it... yet. I very much enjoy using an inductive approach, in which you learn grammar in a practical way, I also like to emphasize on culture. It is very important to understand how do people speak in the target language. My lessons are usually colorful and dynamic in the sense that I prepare specific material for each student and I like to know the student is also willing to achieve his or her goals regarding fluency, acquiring more vocabulary, enhancing pronunciation, etc.
Our lessons are definitely not going to be traditional learning; you are going to have fun learning interesting cultural facts, slang, formal jargon, etc. ¡Bienvenido!
I know how hard learning a language can be, believe me, I've been there!
But the last thing you wanna do is stress out, get confused or worse, bored!
Learning is hard and practice makes perfect; and what better way to practice with a young native speaker of both English & Spanish?
I can teach you:
-Day to day vocabulary
-Formal Speech
-Informal Speech
-Pronunciation
-Mannerisms
-Colloquialisms
-The culture behind
-Orthography
i can guarantee we'll find a way to make classes more dynamic, open and fun!
See ya! :)
