Learning a new language always comes with a specific motivation, a goal, a need, sometimes only about the pleasure of learning. For me, enjoying the learning process is the most important part of my job as a teacher and I will always adapt my classes so that you enjoy them and learn at the same time. I have many years of experience and have taught in so many different places (from the suburban areas of an Indian metropolis to one of the highest skyscraper in Hong kong) and contexts (classes with no internet connection to remotely teaching from my house) and ages (from toddlers to retired people), that I am sure you will enjoy learning with me!
I know all too well that awkward feeling when we begin to learn a language. The good news is that you will only get better and that depends on your commitment to learning and your professor. I've mastered five languages and I've done so because I know how to break down concepts and pronunciation in novel ways. With me, learning languages is fun — as it always should be. In class, I use music, videos, newspapers, grammar exercises, and pieces of literature to give you a well rounded entry into the language. Classes are always delivered in the target language, never in English: this is most effective method and closest to what it is like to be in a foreign country when you can't rely on English to get you by. Sign up and tell me about yourself and your language objectives. Looking forward!
I am a Spanish professional based in the Atlanta area, where I am tutoring face-to-face and online. As my family owned an Elementary School in Barcelona, I literally grew up in a school, so I am familiar with education for since I remember. Being a teenager, I started working with grade schoolers tutoring them after school. Since those days, my relationship with teaching has never ended: developing language classes and theatre workshops, coordinating groups of foreign students in Spain, and leading after-school activities and company classes on several occasions. I consider myself a multifaceted individual, able to contribute to your education in different ways. I am passionate about art in general, communication and travelling.
Learning in your own language at the EARLY stages of taking in new concepts is key. That is why I combine Spanish with the mother tongue of the learner so it can be easier and more productive. I fully understand the frustration one can feel when trying to learn difficult concepts, that's why the lessons must be interactive and fun. This is a process the student must enjoy, otherwise, what is the point?! The lessons mix culture and language, as well as dialects and linguistic concepts so that students can develop their interest and their abilities to learn any language. I love interacting and having fun Helping people is a drive in my life.I'm also very determined and motivated and want to reflect that in everything I do. Spanish is a challenge, but it is worth trying! Vamos a por ello!
My name is Natalia and I was born in Spain, so Spanish and Catalan are my native languages. At 17 I decided to come study in the U.S. and got my degree at Murray State University. I love teaching and even more when I see the pride in my students eyes after they start feeling like they are making advancements in their language of choice.
